the photographer behind Golden Cardinal Media
I truly feel like I stumbled into my photography and videography business. While I was in college one of my friends asked me to create a video of their wedding that they could send to family overseas. I was studying Telecommunications, so creating videos was right up my alley, but it was during this experience I realized how much I loved telling personal stories. I officially started up Golden Cardinal Media in 2017. After three years of hustling with weddings almost every weekend, I left my corporate job in 2020 so that I could do what I love full time.
In 2021 my husband and I welcomed our first child, with baby brother following exactly two years later. In between photographing weddings, my memory cards quickly started to fill up with photos of my two favorite little guys. My late nights editing were replaced with snuggles and 2 AM feeds. I was so thankful for having a full calendar of weddings that made it possible for me to stay at home with my kids, but long wedding days on top of my mom duties was taking its toll.
In 2024 I slowly started taking on more branding clients and less weddings so I could spend more time with my kids. In the past two years I’ve worked with bakers, automotive companies, photographers, lifestyle brands, gyms, museums, and even been on a few TV segments to talk about photography! I feel like I’m finally doing exactly what I am meant to do.

a bit about me
- I’m a mom to two little dudes who are all about monster trucks, getting muddy, and snacking 24/7.
- I went to Ball State University for Telecommunications and Anthropology. I went into school thinking I wanted to work in a newsroom, but I came out with a passion for telling love stories.
- I love books. I love to read them, collect them, and I’m even working on writing my own novel this year.
- I consistently have three drinks beside me: water, Dr. Pepper, and iced coffee. Also, I believe in drinking iced coffee year-round.
- I love a good DIY project. During my slow season you can find me painting another room in my house or searching for gems at the thrift stores.
